CURBSIDE RESCUED SEWING TABLE MAKEOVER IN ANNIE SLOAN GRAPHITE

If you remember when I posted my last Cubside Rescue, I've finally got the update on how I turned their trash into my newest treasure. All with just a little love, Annie Sloan ChalkPaint in Graphite and a wood applique :D

Of course, with Annie Sloan, this project did not require priming or sanding.

I gutted the Sewing Machine Table so it wouldn't be so heavy - that sewing machine just screwed right out so the table wasn't so heavy. Now what to do with the sewing machine (which is PINK by the way....LOVE....!!!)

Because I planned to use the table as a nightstand, I turned it to what was once the side to make it skinnier and longer to fit in it's new bedside spot. I attached a .50 cent wood applique to that front to add a bit of flair and detail.

Gave her a full coat, let dry a couple hours and then I went back and did some glazing on the edges and applique. I hand rubbed clear wax on the top because my night stand tends to get very dingy with drinks and such. And that's it! Here's the entire process top to bottom.....

I'm in love with my Curbside Rescued Sewing Table turned Nightstand!

  1. Striking! I know nothing about paint(s)...but I know I LOVE to paint and create. You took a piece of furniture that looked as if it's future was trash and turned it into something wonderful. Thanks for the inspiration

    1. Lyddi, I am insomniac at it's worst, most every night! It used to drive me crazy but I've learned to just run with it and find that those are the hours I am most creative - guess God just wired my brain that way, but I figure it's better to just get up and be productive than to toss & turn and get frustrated. Thank you so much for the visit and comments!
