I've got an awesome mismatched dining set makeover that really is a trash to treasure transformation!

I loved this drop leaf dining table because of the size and it was given new life in a custom mixed color of
Annie Sloan Old Violet, Paris Gray and Graphite, lightly distressed and clear waxed.
The client that purchased the table wanted mismatched chair styles and brought a beautiful fabric for me to use to recover the seats on 2 of them.

This poor set of chairs were on their way to the landfill. Most people wouldn't have given them a second glance. However, they were sturdy solid wood and I knew they could be salvaged and given new life!
They got a fresh coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White, new cushioning and fabric and you'd never believe they were the same chairs!
My client sent me photos of the table and chairs in her dining room and for a mismatched set of chairs and a table that were all purchased seperately, I think they look great together!

I absolutely love the fabric she chose and it tied the chairs in with the table color and her dining area perfectly.

What do you think? Do you like the idea of mismatched chair styles?

ANNIE SLOAN COUNTRY GRAY & VERSAILLES SIDEBOARD MAKEOVER

This Mid Century Modern Dresser was screaming for a makeover! I envisioned taller legs bringing it to the perfect height to repurpose as a sideboard in my dining room.

As you may know, most mid century pieces are covered in a glossy veneer. With any other type of paint, you would need to strip or prime. Not with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, which is of course why I've been using it for 20 years! Latex based paints will peel right off, even those people claim to be "chalk paint" by adding ingredients to it. Those are still latex based paints and will always act and look like latex paint!

With this piece, I decided to go with
Annie Sloan Country Gray
, which is a neutral color that is often overlooked! I love it. I decided to give it a little pop by doing the middle section in Versailles.

I added legs from a different project to make it the perfect height as a
Sideboard!

Because I love detail and curves, which mid century modern pieces are lacking, I also added a statement
drawer pull and backing. It gave it just that extra special touch it needed!

I forgot to get a full "BEFORE" but you can see the process below!

Lots of distressing, clear wax and I'm in love with the finished piece!
